Sara slams the bedroom door. The TV and shower crank on. Pug expects a clang from the liquor cabinet in his parents’ bedroom Ruthie dared him and his friends to open. He didn’t, but two of his teammates did. “It’s OK. I’m still your number-one fan,” Ruthie joked, tapping the end of Pug’s squished-up nose. “Even if they bench you, which they never do to studs like you.”
